Syncope

This is doctor speak for loss of consciousness, excluding seizures.  Though obtaining a history will often demonstrate the cause of syncope, your provider may do tests to test for the effect of standing on blood pressure and heart rate (Heads Up Tilt Table Test) or heart rhythm including monitoring or an electrophysiology study to further define the cause of dizziness.
